by Nida Ansari, Editor-in-Chief Welcome back to another year of GetPsyched, the Psychology Society blog. We had a great test run last year and we are excited to return and share new content with you all! Read more to learn about how you can be part of the GetPsyched team. Applications due October 7th @ 5pm! GetPsyched is a page run by students and executive members on the Guelph Psychology Society. It resides on the society’s website (guelphpsychsoc.weebly.com/blog) and is a blog-style, educational outlet for members of the psychology community at U of Guelph to share personal submissions of topics they are interested in and wish to share with others. All Psychology students and related individuals (faculty, alumni, etc.) are welcome to submit a blog post that they feel is appropriate and relevant to the Guelph Psychology student body. On top of that, this year we are trying something new. We are opening the floor up to undergraduate Psychology students if they'd like to join the Blog Committee! The Committee would be a group of students dedicated to getting content out on a consistent basis and ensuring everything posted aligns with the GetPsyched standards. While this is not an executive position, being on the blog committee allows students to get involved with the Psychology Society in a low-commitment but concrete way! The committee will comprise of the following roles/positions: 1. Editor-in-Chief and Administrator of the GetPsyched Blog The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for uploading and formatting the submissions onto the Psychology Society website (as seen here!) - 2. Head Writer (a few spots available) Head Writers would write 1-2 posts a month, often following a similar theme (past themes have included wellness, Co-op, psychological research, etc.). The choice of theme is up to you, but it should be beneficial to the Psychology student body in some way! 3. Editor (a few spots available) Editors help edit through submissions by our Head Writers as well as submissions by other students that contribute to the blog, ensuring that the submissions align with the GetPsyched standards. 4. Graphic Artist (1-2 spots available) Graphic Artists would create relevant artwork/visual elements to add to submitted blog posts - like the image above! Interested? We're accepting applications for the Blog Committee until October 7th @ 5pm. Apply here. We look forward to bringing GetPsyched back to life once again! - Nida Nida is a third-year Psychology Co-op student at the University of Guelph, is the Editor-in-Chief of GetPsyched, and is Co-President on the Psychology Society. Are you interested in submitting a post to GetPsyched? Make sure you fill out our submission form and send it back to us so we can showcase your ideas!
