Co-Presidents
Co-President -Phoebe Tadrus
Phoebe is a fourth year Honours Psychology Major, minoring in Sociology. In addition to being Co-President for PSYSOC, she tutors students at the University of Guelph in Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, and Philosophy. She is especially passionate about Clinical Psychology and Education. Phoebe hopes to pursue a career in teaching and create a better environment and curriculum for teens with learning difficulties. |
Co-President - Ruben Vbros
Ruben is a fourth-year Psychology Major and Philosophy minor at the University of Guelph. In his spare time, he loves to run 5k's, cook, and read. He is also very active in school organizations and is the Co-Director of External Affairs for the Pre-Law Society. He is very passionate about making a positive difference in the world and aspires to become a civil rights and human rights lawyer in the future. |
Chair, Board Representative, and Marketing Coordinator
Chair - Sofia Calabrese
Sofia is a second-year honours Psychology major. She is the Chairperson for the Psychology Society and was previously the First-Year Representative. She aims to obtain a PhD in either Social or I-O psychology and go on to conduct research and teach at the postsecondary level. She is a passionate advocate for accessible mental health care and promoting overall well being. Outside of school, she is an avid reader, nature lover, and a self-proclaimed coffee connoisseur. |
Board Representative - Laura Kostwinder
Laura is a third-year honours neuroscience major with a minor in psychology. She is the Board Representative and represents the Psychology Society at CSAHS-SA meetings. Outside of school, she is a published author and an avid reader. She aspires to complete postgraduate studies in neuroscience with a focus on mental health. |
Marketing Coordinator - Ava Schipani
Meet Ava, a driven second-year honours Psychology major with a passion for making a positive impact. She serves as the Marketing Coordinator for PSYSOC, where her creative skills shine as she promotes all things psychology-related. Beyond her academic pursuits, she's a part-time Social Media Manager and the creative force behind "Salita," her wellness brand. With a passion for promoting mental health and well-being, Ava aspires to inspire others to lead fulfilling lives. In her free time, Ava cherishes moments with her dog and enjoys quality time with family and friends. |

Academic Coordinator - Wing Leungtse
Meet Wing, an honours thesis student devoted to compassionately supporting the communities he is a part of. As a full-time firefighter in his honours thesis, Wing is investigating the organizational structures in fire departments that affect the behavioural health of their firefighters. Wing is equally passionate about helping students thrive through the demanding lifestyle of academia. I’m addition to being the Academic Coordinator, Wing is also the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) Undergraduate Representative and is always happy to discuss professional and academic opportunities in the field. You can approach Wing for questions and resources around navigating psychology courses, faculty, careers, or more. |
Academic Coordinator - Nicole Gomes
Nicole is a fourth year honours Psychology major. In addition to being an Academic Coordinator at PSYSOC, she is also a Career Education Peer Helper at the EL Hub and is an ongoing mentor at a youth mental health organization. With a passion in student services and advising, Nicole hopes to get her Masters of Education and continue her work in career education. In her free time, Nicole loves spending time with her dog and hanging out with family and friends! |
Community Coordinators
Community Coordinator -Emma Hilyard
Meet Emma, a second year psychology major! This is her second year on PsySoc, and is one of the community coordinators for this year. She will be hosting community related events with hopes to bring psyc students together. She is especially excited to help host this years mental health conference! Emma has a passion for working with and helping others, and hopes that one day the work she does makes a difference in people’s lives. She currently works as a behavioural support worker, which is an amazing start to this journey! Aside from school, she loves all different kinds of music and feels it’s a way to connect with people and themselves! |
Community Coordinator - Emily Macdonald
Meet Emily, a fourth year Honours Psychology student with a minor in Family and Child Studies. Emily is a thesis student in the Child Development Research Unit under the supervision of Dr. Morrongiello, and is currently working on a project studying teen driving behaviours. This is Emily’s second year on the society, first being a third-year rep and now a community coordinator. In the next few years, Emily hopes to take some time to travel as well as pursue grad school in the field of Developmental Psychology. In her free time, Emily enjoys listening to music, being outdoors, and spending time with friends and family. |
4th Year Representatives
4th Year Representative -Alisa Cleave
Alisa Cleave is a fourth-year Psychology student and this is her first year on the Psychology Society! In her graduating year, she made a vow to become more involved with her program and the peers who also share a love for psychology. She recently just finished interning at the Childhood Resources Institute for the summer and is also a Support Line/Crisis Line volunteer for CMHA, which ensured her love of working with children and adolescents who are struggling with their mental health. In the next few years, she hopes to travel abroad for school and obtain a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology, with the end goal of opening her own private practice one day! In her spare time, she loves to spend time with her friends and family, journal, do yoga, and volunteer. |
4th Year Representative - Christabel Arubi
Christabel is a fourth-year honours psychology major. She is a fourth-year representative for the Psych Society and also volunteers at the wellness centre on campus. After graduating, Christabel hopes to take a year off, followed by pursuing a Master’s degree in social work and working as a mental health counsellor. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, cooking, and reading. |

3rd Year Rep - Fiona Jagelewski
Meet Fiona Jagelewski, a third year Honours Psychology student minoring in Sport and Event Management. She is the Third-Year Representative for the Psychology Society this year. She is planning on pursuing a Masters Degree in Sports Psychology. Fiona also enjoys traveling as she is planning on spending a year abroad in the UK to further continue her studies. In her free time she is often found in the dance studio, snowboarding or spending time with her friends. |
3rd Year Rep - Olivia Barron
Meet Liv, a third-year honours Psychology major with a love for the community. Her role on PSYSOC is a third-year representative, responsible for planning events and representing the third year psychology majors and minors at Guelph. Aside from academics, Liv loves the art of dance, and is one of the captains of the Guelph Gryphons Dance Pak team. Her interests for the future include sports psychology, where she can apply her love for sport competition with emphasis on mental health and well-being for success. In her free time, Liv loves watching shows and spending time with friends. |

2nd Year Rep - Virginia Payne
Meet Virginia, a second year honours psychology major minoring in biology. She serves as one of the second year representatives for PSYSOC and enjoys planning events and representing second year psych majors and minors. Beyond her academic pursuits, Virginia enjoys teaching swim lessons, volunteering at the hospital, and spending time with friends and family. |
2nd Year Representative - Jaedan Darsan
Jaeden is a second year hobbies psychology major and the 2nd year representative for the psychology society. She is so excited to plan for this years upcoming events. Loving her work with children and family background in mental health, after she graduates her undergraduate program she hopes to per-sue her masters and hopefully a career as a psychologist for children and youth. She has a passion for mindfulness and wellbeing, and is an advocate for student mental health. Outside of her studies you can find her laughing and making memories with her friends and family, walking her dog, journaling, or practicing self care. |
1st Year Representatives
1st Year Representative - Kalina Russell
Meet Kalina, a first-year Honours Psychology student minoring in marketing. She is a First-Year Representative for the Psychology Society. She is extremely excited for this role! In the future, Kalina hopes to pursue a Masters degree in clinical psychology. With her Masters degree she is hopeful to go into the field of therapy and aid those in her community who are silently suffering. In her free time, Kalina enjoys going on walks with her two dogs, reading, and spending time with friends and family. |
1st Year Representative - Hailey Willfang
Hailey is a first year psychology (co-op) major, minoring in neuroscience. This is her first year in the Psychology Society! She is passionate about cognitive psychology, and is very inspired by the field of psychology in general. In the future, she hopes to pursue a Master’s degree and Doctorate in clinical neuropsychology, allowing her to help those affected with brain injuries or disease. Additionally, in her spare time she enjoys all things outdoors, running, and traveling. She is extremely excited to be a part of the Psychology Society and contribute to the University of Guelph! |
Administrator and Merch Representative
Administrator - Maggie Mills
Maggie is a second-year honours psychology major minoring in marketing. She is an Administrator for the Psychology Society and she’s so excited for her first year being part of this society. Along with that, she participates in intramurals, is a content creator for the Yoga Club, and will be the President of Plant-Based at Guelph next semester. Outside of school she enjoys hanging out with friends, going to the gym, being in nature, and making music. |
Merchandise Representative - Payton Lawrence
Payton is a fourth-year student who is majoring in Psychology with a minor in Neuroscience. Payton is currently working on an Honours Thesis with a focus on stress in the student and student-athlete populations. She wishes to pursue graduate studies in Clinical Psychology and to make a positive impact in her community. Payton looks forward to the opportunities and challenges that are to come ahead in her academic and professional journey. Payton is also always happy to discuss anything related to psychology! |
